A few years ago the City of Ravenna, the Chamber of Commerce, the Port Authority and the Airport of Bologna joined forces with a few professionals of the cruise business such as Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Venezia Terminal Passeggeri and Bassani Group, to deliver a unique product made of enthusiasm and professionalism, with problem solving as main attitude and guest satisfaction as prime aim.

RTP was founded in 2009 and in 2010 was appointed by the Port Authority of Ravenna as concessionaire for the management of the cruise terminal and all cruise related services.

The company shareholders are Ravenna Chamber of Commerce (4%), Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (24%), Venezia Terminal Passeggeri (24%), Bassani Group (24%), Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (24%).

At the port entrance stands the new strategically located pier exclusively dedicated to cruise ships. The dock and the terminal area are designed to meet the highest meet & greet standards for cruise guests.
The 300 m long pier has two berths which can accommodate ships up to 330 m on a draft of 8.80 m. There is also a 600 sqm terminal which houses Customs and Immigration controls for in-transit ships. A larger terminal (a 2000 sqm tensostructure) serves homeporting or interporting ships during the cruise season.
The terminal is simple but comfortable, as its concept is based on a few basic criteria.
There are no architectonic barriers. Accessible routes provide access to the pier and all terminal areas. A meeting point with a van-accessible parking place is located by the terminal entrance.
Cruise Lines tour busses have access to the dock. Guests can join their favourite excursion just in front of the ship’s gangway.

A shuttle bus service from the port to Ravenna city centre is available a few steps away from the pier. As the cruise terminal is located in between the yacht marina, the beaches and pine forests, it takes only 20 minute-drive to reach the main city attractions and shopping area.
An information point is successfully managed by skilled local staff under the patronage of the Province of Ravenna. A car parking area is also available for embarking guests and visitors.
Due to the partnership with the Airport of Bologna, special luggage transfer procedures to speed up the guest’s embarkation process can be arranged, while providing a comfortable and stress-free beginning of the cruise vacation.
An important airlift connects Bologna to the rest of Europe and to further intercontinental destinations. The airport is 75 minute-drive from the cruise terminal.
