«We are happy to have been able to contribute to the EHMA 50th Annual General Meeting with a specific study on the management of human capital in the luxury hotel industry. Among the topics analyzed the acquisition of new employees is a strategic aspect for the sector since human resources, interacting with the end customer, have an enormous impact on the overall performance of hotel structures. If Europe, the world’s leading tourism destination, wants to be able to continue to grow and, above all, to offer tourists quality services, this aspect must become a priority».

The idea of this research was to give a contribution to the EHMA 50th General Assembly, especially to the Educational Day.  The Assembly has been realized under the assumption that while tourism and hospitality is growing in Europe, the availability of new young professionals in this business is becoming the biggest challenge for the sector. The present and future success of the sector goes through delivering a satisfying service. This relies on highly experienced managers as well as on talent retention and growth but also by attracting and involving new qualified and motivated workforce. Risposte Turismo wanted therefore to understand the point of view of more than 120 European Hotel General Managers on the topic: Which roles are more difficult to find? What should be improved in HR departments of European hotels? Which channels do hotel managers use to find new talents? Are people interested in training and self growth? Are current staff requests changing?
